Antique French small Glazed Pottery bowl with spout
early 1900s
Handmade
Extra large french mixing bowls glazed on the inside in beige. The bottom outside was left unglazed and is in an earthy beige color so much like the earth in which it came. These part glazed pottery bowls were made in the early 1900s. The bowls were traditionally used in the South West of France to prepare the confit of duck before storing for preserving in glazed confit pots and also another use would have been for preparing fruit to make jam ,then covered and stored in the cellar. There are no makings on each of the bowls cause they were handmade.
Rare to come by, this two is in excellant condition with only slight wear, but no cracks or chips in the glaze or pot. No issues in the glaze either. Great for a rustic look in a farmhouse. Pouring spout makes it very efficient for serving.
